Test equipment and new quality coconut oil in India

According to reports from The Hindu said three analytical laboratory at Kochi, Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram in India will soon be equipped with Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry to check the quality of coconut oil.
Sources Association Standards and Food Safety (FSSA) to know more and more sophisticated test is done to check the quality of coconut oil because many people doubt coconut oil was mixed with palm oil. The traditional analysis of the samples were found coconut oil mix on a large scale, although there are about 20-30% of palm oil is mixed with coconut oil but still undetected.
Currently, coconut oil sold for around 140-160 rupees / kg in the retail market, while palm kernel oil was selling cheaper than 60-65 rupees / kg. FSSA sources said, monitoring the coconut oil prices are gradually being implemented. The coconut oil sample being drawn from containers coming from Tamil Nadu at the check station. A large amount of coconut oil from Kerala was withdrawn after the samples less coconut oil increases. Before the start of the voyage, some 20 containers of coconut oil must pass inspection station Walayar in Palakkad. However, the current number dropped to 10 barrels / day. In this situation, the supplier of coconut oil production has been allowed from a qualified laboratory for quality goods consigned.
