Emu oil comes from the emu bird of New Zealand and is a by-product of the process of meat production. The oil contains omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids and is believed to moisturize the hair and skin without clogging the pores. Coconut oil is a saturated fat made from the meat of the tropical coconut. Like emu oil, coconut oil is considered good for the skin and hair. Combining both oils with essential oils can strengthen the hair follicles for longer, healthier hair.

Fill the outer pot of the double boiler with 1 inch of water, or up to the fill-line. Bring the water to boil and turn the heat down to low.
Put the inner pot inside the double boiler and add the coconut oil. Let the oil melt then add the emu, sweet almond and castor oils. Stir the oils until fully blended.
Add 20 drops of carrot oil, 10 drops of the rosemary and lavender oils, six drops of the clary sage and five drops of the Roman chamomile. Stir the oil mix with a wooden spoon.
